Rozu's training

Rozu woke up early in the morning, the sun was barely out yet but from the look on his face you can tell he wide awake. He stayed the night at Kyoshi Island, he made some quick friends there the Kyoshi warriors and some villagers. They let him stay over a couple of nights, to relax and stuff. But Rozu doesnt really waist time relaxing, this would be a perfect time for to put the scrolls to work. He got up and put on a sleevless shirt and some training pants. He rushed out the door quickly with his scrolls in hand.

Some of the villagers were awake, and saw him moving quickly. "Leaving so soon Rozu?" a old man asked him sweepign some leaves of the ground. "No no, just going to do some practice." Rozu said starting his morning jogging. He ran for a good while to he spotted an open terrain, that looked good for practice. He started in that direction, it was hard ground no grass kind of tall mountain tops.

"Perfect" Rozu said stretching. He took out the scrolls and placed them on the ground to get a good look at them.

Rika smirked as she followed Rozu. Early morning training eh? Well she needed to train as well. The girl walked up to the crouching guy and tapped his shoulder. "Let's start training! You can't expect me to just leave a training partner without actually learning anything." Rika grinned and pulled her water bending scroll out.

She then began looking at it. It was temperature manipulation. She began reading it and looked at how to do the technique. It was kind of complicated. Mainly she would have to spar with someone after trying it out. It seemed like a pain but this was some powerful bending.

Rozu was crouched on the ground tapping his chin thinking how was he gonna start this training. He usaully had Torqiru with him, to give him pointers but it wasnt like he never trained by himself before. Then Rozu felt a tap on his shoulder he was quite surprsied to Rika up and awake the early. "Wow Rika, what are you doing awake?" He asked standing up looking at her.

Rozu was surprsied to know she actaully wanted to train. Never in his life as he met someone with his kinda passion to train before. He smiled. "No I dont expect you to." He said answering her question. He looked at her studying her scroll, and he was actaully distracted a bit. But Rozu quickly dismissed all other thoughts, he would never let anything get in his way from training.

Rozu looked down below at his scroll. "Jet propulsion, ive seen it done before by Torqiru. It looks diffucult but no matter I will have it down by the end of today." Rozu said stretchign his legs now.

"Fire exhales from the bottom of the feet, giving burst of speed in the forward direction." Rozu put himself a good distance away from Rika, to make sure no fire harms her. He lifted his right leg up, and let fire release from his feet just a bit. He felt the flame lift his leg a little as it touched the ground. Then he tried with both feet, and he flew back landed on his back hard. "Ooowww ok that hurt." Rozu said to himself rubbing the back of his head.

"Jet propulsion, ive seen it done before by Torqiru. It looks diffucult but no matter I will have it down by the end of today." Rika thought about that. It was a difficult technique and you needed not only your feet but your hands to make sure you didn't go flying off. The hands stabilized you. This was a neat trick but you wouldn't be able to use bending as you did this. Which could lead to a weakness at a crucial time in battle if you didn't use the technique right.

Rika wanted to learn something even harder though. She sighed. Boil bending. It was something very rare. It was the exact opposite of ice bending but if you did too much then it would just turn to steam. Or it could seriously hurt you.

Rika began to re read the scroll making sure she was going to do it correctly. She then got into a stance and began bending water out of her gourd on her back. Then the woman blinked. She bit her lip and concentrated. She accidentally turned the water to ice and hissed. "Dammit, it's supposed to be the OPPOSITE of ice. Guess I'll try again."

The sun beamed on Rozu's face as he thought the best way to get this technique down. He flipped up ready to try again, he didnt care if it took him all day he would get it down. Rozu cracked his knuckles and let out a hard breath from his nose making hot stream come out. He started stretchign hs arms placing them far apart, he let out a wild burst of flame from both hands for a quick second, then it was gone. He place his hands behind him, and did it again creating fire on the ground. His looked focused and straight, his muscles started to pulse from his arm. Showing off a very lean and athletic figure, he lifted his feet up keeping his toes on the ground but his heels up. The center of his bottom feet would be wear he would release the fire burts. "Alright lets do this." He said to himself before he was bout to take off.

A few seconds past then a burst of fire came from both of his palms, then soon to be followed after that small burst of fire came from his feet that took him forward slowly. It didnt look like much at first but, Rozu knew what he was doing remembering Torqiru perform this technique infront of him. Only thing is Torqiru didnt need hands and he could still fire bend while moving with this technique. Rozu would learn that in do time aswell. But for now he had to get the basics down pack, he learned to never rush perfection.

Rozu grinned at this small success because he knew it would lead to a much bigger one. He looked behind him and saw the small flame. Then looked forward again, he grinned. Then let loose a big burst of flame from his feet jetting him across the terrain. He had trouble keeping in place but fixed that small problem by putting some pressure on his legs. He noticed that the flame from his hands arent needed for speed but for balance, and also a short burst. But it was most unnecessary.

Rika watched as Rozu tried again. This time he seemed to get it. Though he was very wobbly and shaky. He seemed to understand how to do it enough now. Now it was Rika's turn to try her own technique. She made a ball of water in the air. Then she kept trying to heat it. Finally she saw steam come off of the ball of water. She grinned and pressed harder.

It began to boil in the air. The bubbles in the water began to get bigger and come to the surface faster. Rika giggled. She'd made it hot and boiling. Now it was time to control the temperature more. She began to change it from hot to cold and back again. This took almost twenty minutes before she had it mastered enough.

Now it was time to use it on something. She threw the ball of boiling water at a piece of a metal can she set up. She then threw the water at it. The aluminum can piece began to melt. Rika was happy about this. Finally she had it mastered. She wondered if she should start sparring with Rozu now.

"Hey Rozu?" she asked him.

Rozu was really starting to get the hang of it now, and you can tell from the look on his face. But that dissapeared instantly as his serious expression returned, when he started making turns. He would have to do wide turns first then, tried to make them sharp with each and every try. He stopped the fire from his hands, and used his hands that were now free to guide his turns as his fingers lightly touched the pavement of the ground.

Great im quite good at this...

Then Rozu got a bit hotheaded he wanted to try something that he shouldnt at such an early stage of learning a new technique. Rozu grinned the sun beamed in his face, he spreaded his arms wide apart no longer using them to guide his turns. He lowered his speed abit, the intense flame burning and destroying rocks when he continued. He focused more fire from beneath his feet and instead of going forward he wanted to go up higher. The fire launched him in the air, about 15 feet in the air. Rozu let the flame disperse, a quick moment he let the wind brush his face. Then with no more time waist, he did a blazing arc kick from his feet shooting a large arc of fire forward to some rocks. A explosion could be heard, then his body did a turn letting off another blazing arc of flame that hit another rock. That left it partly damaged and burned. Rozu quickly falling to the ground, had a burst of flame to have glide back down to the ground it was kinda fast but it worked. When he landed he heard Rika call out to him. Then using his new found ability Rozu launched himself in her direction, large bursts coming from his feet and his palms for balance.

When he got close to her he stopped the flame from his palms and dispersed the flame from his feet. "Wats up?" He said he seemed happy, he was getting good training done.

Rika had watched him. He was pretty good. He was a fast learner. He'd done such a nice attack and it was stronger than usual. Probably because of the sun being out. She couldn't wait to show off for him under the full moon. Or at least at night. She wanted to prove that she was a special person who could fight as well as he could.

Rika tapped her chin before responding to him. "Could we spar? I really want to finish training. I need to train with someone though and use it in combat before I can fully master this. Would you help by sparring with me?"

Without waiting for him to reply Rika stepped back so she was three meters away from him and took a moment to bend her water into a ball. Then she let it heat till steam came off of it and then threw it at the boy.

Rozu was in a good mood now, he's learning new techniques at a fast rate. He stretched out a bit till he felt a stretch in every part of his spine. He heard Rika's question and before he could even give a answer she was already preparing an attack. Which kinda caught Rozu by surprise, she was a aggressive which Rozu admired a traight all fire benders shared.

With a spin Rozu atempted to block the ball of water, with a arc of fire. His block was successfull but he wasnt expecting the water to be so hot. He right leg was hot and it burned a little. If he didnt use fire to further block that attack, Rozu would have been in a heep of trouble. Rozu raised an eyebrow his face looked shocked. "Heated water bending...thats...not cool." he said getting prepared to attack.

"Well thats a fancy trick, there but i'll show fire is the king of heat." he said with a smile. Rozu started a run towards Rika using his right arm he sent a arc of flame towards her then turning his body he sent another arc of fire with right leg.

Rika gasped when some water hit him. But he seemed to be find and walked on the leg that was burned a bit. She made a mental note to take care of it later. She would put gauze and some gel on his leg. It should help the burn heal. But not now. Now she needed to do her best to learn this technique.

"Heated water bending...thats...not cool." Becoming a bit confident Rika grinned.

"You don't like it? Why not? Is it because it makes your fire bending look weak?" she said with a smirk.

Rika blinked when he ran towards her. She already began to prepare another set of water but made it cold so that when he used a fire attack against her she could negate it. He sent two arcs of flame towards her. She dodged the first and then used her water to hit the other and negated it by turning the water into steam. She ran towards him and began to heat up another small ball of water. Then she threw it at his chest.

Rozu laughed "Firebending looking weak...never!" he said with a grin. He got prepared for her next attack.

Rozu saw the ball coming and now he knew not to try any close blocks. Rozu dodged using his new skill having a jet stream of fire come from his feet pushing him to the right. He stopped the accelaration, and had a lash of fire come from his left hand aimed towards Rika. Then this time using more focus, he used both hands to make a spinning flame it was small at first and he didnt have alot of time, he put more flame into spin and instantly it turned into a large disc he let it go to head towards Rika. This was the fist time using a tech like that, so it wouldnt be as powerfull as its suppose to be but its still a threat do to its size speed and power.

It was one of the new techs on the scroll he just learned, and he was already appyling it to battle.

Rika gasped as the disk came hurling towards her. She tried to dodge but it burned her left arm. She screeched in pain but used her right arm to being making smaller balls of boiling water. She bit her lip and threw seven of them at him. One at his head, another two at his arms, two more at his legs, and two more at his stomach and groin.

She didn't wait for him to dodge it or get hit. She sent a few ice spikes at him as well. Three in total. She hoped he couldn't get through that easily. She was starting to get worn out now that she had a wound. That damn flame disk...

Rozu heard Rika's screeched he felt bad he always took training to seriously. He reminded him that he's fighting a girl, but then forgot that though it didnt matter boy or girl. Rika wanted to train and it wasnt going to do her any better if he wanted to hold back because she was a female.

Rozu looked surprised when she launched multiple smaller water balls, Rozu guessed they were all boiled. He counted five of them, and used his jet propulsion to send him back. But two hit his stomach and and foot, they burned alot. It was so weird to be burned being a firebender. He was so used to him doing all the burning, he held onto his stomach seeing the ice spikes coming his way. He dunked low barely dodging them, one scraped his shoulder kinda bad. But Rozu didnt notice he never really noticed cuts when he was training or fighting but after a while he clenched his shoulder. He went low and did a arc of fire from his feet aimed low.

He was prepated for a counter he had to push Rika to her limits, he had a small burst of flame coming from his feet ready to launch him in the air and dodge another attack. "You ok Rika?" he asked with a little humor in his voice, it was a spar no need to be totaly serious.

After almost an hour of sparring Rika had called it a day. The two were both burned up and they headed to the town to get medical treatment. Nuka carried them there and both were checked out and had salves put on their wounds. They had trained long and hard. Rika had learned her advanced bending and Rozu had learned his techs.

Both were stronger now. Both could do better in their fights and use stronger bending. They would avenge their former ally by becoming stronger. Today they had taken one step closer to becoming the two strongest water and fire benders in the world. Together they would gain fame and power. Unknown to them would they find the Avatar and help to save the world.

Rika groaned as she stretched. "Ow ow ow. You really pack a punch you know that Rozu? Jeez I never want to seriously fight you. You're way too strong. Even as a fire bender and me as a water bender," she told him with a giggle. The sun was going down and the two of them had settled down for the day in their camp outside the town. Nuka was laying next to Rika. All three watched as the sun went down. Ready to start another day in a few hours.
