Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyWed Oct 26, 2011 3:11 pm

Far from home, RInzo had made a new life for himself. He had almost forgotten his past....okay not really a little but. Standing by a metal wall, the ceiling high above and off to the side of a large crowd going crazy cheering, throwing money just as quickly as they threw insults. He jumped around a little, getting pumped for the main event. The place smelled heavily of to much perfume and Cologne from the high class businessmen whom come to gamble away their lives and show off how much money they can blow and not care to easy women who only care that they have the money to blow on them. All of them, mindless idiots, Rinzo thought, glaring at the crowd of fools as he stretched his arms. He wasn’t wearing a shirt. His gear was in the back in a locker he’d been given. He just had his black pants and belt on, no shoes, and some white bandages wrapped around his hands and knuckles up his fore arm. He still needed his hands after all, best not to wreck them on some losers face.

Staring out over the crowds jumping heads, his eyes narrowed in on a big metal cage, bars on all sides and atop, where a fight was taking place. This was the money. The real High class watched form the two way mirrored room up top, and the floor was for the wannabes..and the animals...meaning the fighters. Staring at the cage, he watched a big man take a beating from an even bigger black man. Arms as big as tree trunks, and fists like boulders hammering the other guy. Watching, he thought of the scrubs and how crazy everyone would get when he got in there. Sure, a lot of people would think it was crazy. He wasn’t a hug guy. Average height, weight, built like a star athlete, but not huge. A lot of people bet against him, but somehow he always walked out laughing counting the money. Glaring at the cage fight, the announcer walking across the fence roof preaching every detail about the fight, the roar of the crowd filled his ears, bring him back to a different time...

A private school cafeteria, kids backed up in a circle around Rinzo and two other boys, cheering so loud and screaming it made his ears ring. A devilish smile on his face and a little blood dripping form the corner of his mouth as he eyed the other two. He somehow always got into a fight, no matter what his mother or teachers said....when he fought, his dad had to yell at him...and that was one of the only times he ever saw his dad. Better not break the routine now. One boy swung, a hard left hook at Rinzo’s head. Flashes of ducking and diving into the boy, both of them tumbling to the ground with Rinzo coming out on top, wailing into the bastards face flicked through his vision as he was shook back to the present.

A man was shaking his left shoulder, snapping him out of his space out, and RInzo quickly shrugged him off.
“Your up next Kid. You better not try any funny business. I bet 100 coin you’d get put down in the 1st round!”
The man was smiling, and had to raises his voice to be heard over the roaring half drunk crowd. Rinzo just gave him a stink eye and look that just screamed, “I should beat that face in.” The man slunk back into the crowd and Rinzo jumped about a second more, getting loose, and then stepped off, walking to the cage side. He emerged from the sea of shouting and jumping people, all trying to get the best view of the ongoing fight, just in time to see the big black man...or giant send a devastating punch to the other rather unfortunate man’s face. as if in slow motion, drool and a tooth threw form his mouth, a bit of blood as well, as his head snapped in the direction of the punch and the man went down. Out like a light. The bell was struck and the match over, the big black man held up his arms, barely sweating and the blood on his hands definitely didn’t belong to him. The ref...or better the announcer’s voice echoed in the underground room.
“Thats All Folks! The challenger is down in a sad display and a poor excuse for a fight! Seems they just don’t grow’em big enough to take down our very own Champion....GOLIATH!!!!”
“GAHHHHHH!”

The Crowd roared at the mention of their winners name and the big black man let out what seemed like a howl more then anything. Rinzo sneered, and you wonder why they call the fighters animals. This clown gave Rinzo a bad name. Still, the champion of BaSing Se....just an over grown or better, an undersized bear. Big, dumb and slow. Rinzo was the main event, he knew it, even if the crowd didn’t...yet.
“Next up we have a special treat folks. As you know we are in the middle of WAR!” And so we have here a Fire Nation Native here to challenge our own Earth Kingdom Champion!!! He loses, we all go home happy and a free round of drinks ON THE HOUSE!!! He wins, he gets a fat sack’o cash and leaves with his life...and two free rounds on the House!! Enough talk, on with the massacre!! Lets Show’em How we’re take out the Trash In BaSing Se!!"

The crowd was livid. Shouts and chants calling out when Rinzo’d be out, or weather to not he’d even make it out with his life. Some started claiming pieces of his body, as if they’d take if from his dead corpse after the fight as a trophy. It was clear this was meant to hype up the war and boost moral of the people. Bad day for them, cause Rinzo had no intention of losing this fight, and based on what he’d seen, this man was more beast then man and relied on his brute power from what Rinzo had seen. Ya know what they say..the Bigger they were....the more pissed the crowd was when they lost. Smirking Rinzo walking into the cage, the creaky sound of metal closing with a loud thud behind him and a lock clicked into place. As they say on the street, it’s game time. The huge mountain of a man stared daggers straight threw him. The stupid grin on Rinzo’s face was probably enough to tell him he didn’t care about the fight, or think he was intimidating at all. That didn’t seem to sit well with this Goliath, and as Rinzo cracked is knuckles and gave the double finger salute to the crowd with his cocky grin on, the mountain charged, pounding across the hard wooden floor of the caged ring. I happen to catch him charging, coking my head to the side in time to see the blood lust in his eyes and drool in his mouth....looks like it was game time.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptySat Oct 29, 2011 1:26 am

A distant crowd could be heard ad Daichi walked the streets of Ba Sing Se to his destination. There was a waterbender his spies had been keeping an eye on for a time now, and from the information he they had gathered, he had skill. Daichi was interested in people with skill, it was a quality he sought to find first. The latest information of this man's whereabouts had been at a fight club somewhere in the city, and so Daichi made his way there. The sounds of cheering became louder as he approached. people were gathered around the building as well as filling the insides as a fight was going on. Daichi did not care much for fights such as these, because most just took it as a way of fun, which was understandable, but hardly ever did others use it as a means of advancing one's own abilities.

Instead of making his way in and possibly causing trouble, He decided he would wait outside for the man to leave after his fight. Apparently he was fighting a man known as "Goliath". Daichi made his assumptions, taking a look through the crowd to find that they were true, waited. Being somewhat interested, he supposed he would catch a few glances at the fight as it progressed.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyMon Oct 31, 2011 6:15 am

My head slightly turned to see him coming form my peripheral vision was...less then appealing. Still in the middle of my introduction and my two gun middle finger salute the bastard nailed my back, driving his shoulder into me and we went crashing into the chain link wall. bastard wasn’t done. i was the one that had gotten a face-ful of metal and he just stood up, lifting my skinny ass over his head and chucked me across the ring, literally tot he other wall. The resounding echo of rattling chain link fence rung in my ears and a few spots danced as he celebrated his blindside victory. Rising on all fours form my face plant where I’d landed, I shot a look of peer hatred at the man as he turned to refocus on me. I rose to my feet, my body already sore from the fence, but the adrenaline and hatred fueling me now. I watched him tighten his muscles and charge forward again. This time, it wouldn’t go as smoothly as he wanted that much was for sure. I was smaller...a LOT smaller then him, but I had a few tricks up my sleeve as the giant charged. I jumped, grabbing onto the cage roof and kicking forward, planting my right foot in his face, forcing his head back and a crunch sounded. I followed it by kicking hard and wide with my left foot, swinging my body into it, connecting with the side of the monster head. He staggered and stumbled to his left until he made it to the wall to support himself.
“Surprise Ugly! I made your face prettier!”

I jeered at him, dropping down form the ceiling, a grin on my face. It was my turn to celebrate. But the crowd wasn’t having it. They wanted me down and I could tell. My best bet, not to make this a show and get out fast. The big guy had recovered and reset on em...but I already had my end all plan in my head. Time to see if he was as predictable as he seemed. Agin, he lurched and ran at me, head down low, since I was smaller then him, and shoulder out, hoping to catch me in it again and drive me to the wall. Perfect. There wasn’t enough space fro him to get a lot of momentum behind him and as he made it to me I grabbed his head, pulling it down, grabbing his ears and head, and driving my knee up, feeling his nose cave and hearing the probably already broken nose shatter. Of course he jerked his head up, probably in a word of pain and stars flying by his vision, his big arms flying in surprise as the tiny man rocked him.I then brought it full circle. I never let go of his head as I brought a hard kick to his knee form the side with my right leg, hearing it give a nice pop as he fell to his knee. Finally, I gave him a flurry of punches with my right fist, hard and fast punches each one trying to drive deeper then the last. I had him by the testis and knew it and didn’t stop punching until my hand hurt. Blood flew from my repeated punching and sprinkled my face and body, and my vision got blurry in the beating.

I stopped...by some miracle I stopped, the man bleeding from my nails digging into his head and ear and form the face. He was ugly before but he wouldn't even recognize himself now..I let him fall form my hand, my fist still cocked and him try to get air, gurgling blood as he hit the wooden floor with a rumble. I hadn’t noticed but the crowed was dead silent and I was breathing hard. Pretty much all that could be heard. I turned and walked swiftly tot eh cage door that swung open for me, someone tossed me a fat sack of coin and I made my way to the back. The crowed had started to protest and the trip to the back became a blur. Some pushing a torrent of protests and shouting, a few people tried to grab my arms and pull me this way and that, I yanked free and I hit a guy here and there...a few suviniours. I made it to the back and found a towel, cleaning myself off of blood and sweat and got my stuff, booking it out a side exit and avoiding anyone one the streets and alleyways. No one wants to hang around when they just destroyed the crowds hero, the Champ of BaSing Se wasn’t gonna me moving for a while because of him and that was a problem because he was in BaSing Se.

It was nearly morning, the first light of the sun was rising as he made it to a fire escape. He climbed fast, wanting to be on a rooftop for the sunrise. He was a traveler, and he’d learned to take his pleasure in the little things. He walked to the buildings end, a small hut looking thing where he supposed the inner buildings stair well rose was ahead, and he walked behind it. A few feet was to his back and separated him from the wall of the hut looking structure as he leaned his hands on the buildings edge, looking out over the city and the sun rise. What a night, best to chill here or a while, let things settle and then get outta town. He wouldn’t be very popular in BaSing Se for a while...which sucked cause all their fighters were soft city guys and easy to beat for a big payday. Oh well, he sighed and laughed out loud. He’d beat the snot outta that mountain of a man and got away with hardly a scratch, just a sore back. What a night.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyMon Oct 31, 2011 11:00 pm

Daichi watched closely as the man suddenly won the fight. The way he acted afterwards made Daichi assume he would be taking the quiet way out, so it caused him to send two of his agents to tail from far behind. That led him to the location of a building. So, Diachi decided to wait near the rooftops until his men had reported in. Diachi was very close to the building and so he quietly made his way to the roof, seeing the man standing there. [color=teal]"The magnificent sight of seeing the sunrise over the great city of Ba Sing Se is something I never tire of. I saw your fight last night, although I didn't need to, knowing that you possess great skill with your fire-bending. I am looking for people with such skills, and I offer a proposition. Join me in my conquest. Beating someone like him in a fight like that must make you quite unpopular with the locals. You'd probably have to even leave the city to avoid trouble. But if you come with me, you wont have to leave. Like to travel? I have business that needs to be done all over the earth kingdom...all over the world. And I can give you the transportation. All you have to do is just follow a few missions I give when I need you, and you can go wherever you like, do what you want. If there is something else you might like, I'm willing to negotiate."[/color[

Daichi knew he might have taken him by surprise, and so when he spoke he kept his hands open and held up, to show he meant no harm, and even kept his distance from him. He made his offer to him clear and to the point. If this man was who Daichi thought he was, he would be interested. If he joined, he would only need an airbender to join them, and all four elements would be at his disposal.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyTue Nov 01, 2011 11:25 am

Even caught in the beauty of the sun across the city Rinzo was startled by the presence of another. He hated being snuck up on, apparently no one had told this guy. A ran very tall man, with a string jaw and a robe on. ‘How’d this giant sneak up on me...and what do they put in the water around here?!” He thought to himself looking the man ahead of him he took him in, sizing him up in case he had followed him from the fight ad was looking for pay back from wrecking their champion. The guy had weird tattoos on his face and spoke all kind of rapidly. Rinzo almost missed what he had said in the beginning while he went over the mans large stature. He said he saw Rinzo destroy the cities supposed champion...but he didn’t seem to care. Which made sense, they’d have another hero next week. In a city like this, people were always waiting in line to be the next best thing. This guy also spoke of his firebending...how he knew for certain he was sure,e but Rinzo was pretty popular in fight circles, bending and non bending. So It wasn’t to much of a stretch he’d hear of it.But then these promises this gut made. In exchange for doming some business, simple missions, the world would be his for the taking. Whatever he wanted and all he had to do was say yes to this freakishly tall guy? What a crazy day this was shaping up to be.

Rinzo considered the option. He was a little confused and struck by the idea, and suddenness of all of this. But the offer did sound nice....travel the world on someone else’s budget, possibly do exciting things all over the place. Who knew what this man wanted..but chances like this were once in a lifetime. He didn’t seem weird, just secretive. And most secrets had a reason making them worth protecting. A few missions for excitement, money, and...what was that last one. Anything else he wanted could be negotiated? There were things that he wanted, sure a lot of things. Most he could get on his own. But still...some he couldn’t. Pushing off the wall and standing in front of the man, looking him up and down, searching for any sign of doubt or anything he could question. The man had his hands out and open in a defensive type gesture, basically saying he wasn’t here to fight. I guess that was suppose to put Rinzo a ease and make everything okay. But the offer...seemed so sweet. A little too sweet.

“Thats a sweet deal there buttercup. Usually on a first date you get a name. You obviously know a creepy lot about me, and I’m at a loss for who you are sir giant.”

Rinzo’s usually cocky attitude had returned. It was his way of coping with things and he was fairly good at it. But this offer was something he wanted...he just couldn’t seem to interested. not yet, not till he knew this guy and what he was getting apart of. Then...sure he’d sign up, why the hell not. But still who was this guy, what was he apart of, what would rinzo be apart of if he got on board, and what the hell would he be doing?! The thoughts raced though his mind as he stared into the freakishly tall man before him..Then another thought. What would he want/ Was traveling free and doing exciting things enough to satisfy him? Wait...there was one thing. He was still trying to live up to his fathers name, well what he viewed as his father name. So two things he wanted. Looking straight into the mans eyes, determination and decision etched into his normally cocky and playful, even a bit jerkish, expression.
“And there is something I’m gonna need. If I’m gonna be your errand boy then you better be high enough in some very well connected group. Cause my demands are high for my outstanding services. You saw mw fight and that’s nothing compared to my bending. But if I’m gonna be at your disposal there are some things I gotta know, and some demands of mine that have to be met. First, I have to know what I’m getting involved in, and who with. Pretty reasonable I’d say...and second. My payment. If I’m gonna run around the world for you you better be paying me more then just travel expenses ya feel me?”

Taking a second to let that all sink in Rinzo thought briefly for his next and last demand. He was sure he wanted it, but he wasn’t perfectly sure this was how he wanted to phrase it. He didn’t want this random giant stranger to know to much more about him if he didn’t have to let onto it.
“On top of that I’m gonna need one more thing. A Dragon. I know, people think they’re extinct, killed off by the legendary firebenders of the past, but I don’t think so. While I’m off on your little missions, you have to use whatever resources you have to find me a dragon. When you do, you tell me, no one else where it is and you walk away. It’s mine.”

Rinzo’s hard look told how serious he was. He was telling the truth, he believed at least one dragon had to have survived. He wanted it. Not sure what he’d do with it but it’d tell him a few things. One how well connected this guy was in the long run. Two, well it’d tell him and give him a dragon! Who could say that in their life?! The last and real personal reason was, with a dragon he could become a powerful firebender, far more then what he was now. He could carry this power and his true name back form the darkness of the shadows and mud which it had been thrown to and return to the fire nation and show them that not only did they live but force them and the world to hear of the atrocities that had befallen his family and finally restore their Honor! That would make his father proud...thats how he could live up to his fathers name and be the son he wanted....

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyWed Nov 02, 2011 12:12 am

Just as Daichi suspected, this man wanted more than just the ability to go where he pleased. He seemed to miss the unimportant part of what he was saying at the start, so Daichi would speak a bit slower next time. Being the secondary leader of the Heishou had its benefits, meaning he could obtain virtually anything if he truly desired it. He knew he needed a skilled firebender under his control. He also needed to find another waterbender. An airbender would be the hardest, considering their nomadic lifestyle, where they also do not cling to worldly possessions. But he was convinced it would be possible with time.

"Well as for my name, I am called Daichi. As for my connections? I have far more than you could imagine, and my resources are vast. One may obtain anything they wish with time. What you will be doing will be mainly what I need you to do at the time, but most of it will be on your own, or with one or two other people I have in reserve. I can't tell you who I am with until I know you are willing to join, its a precaution that sadly must be followed." Daichi paused a moment and use his hands to raise stone from the roof to make a seat for himself and the man, then gestured behind the man to acknowledge that there was one behind him as well, and seated himself.

"And dragons? Oh I can assure you they are very much real, and that they very well exist. But a dragon is something that is very very hard to obtain, especially if I am to keep it under the line of sight of the world, as well as even manage to tame it. Nay my good man that is something you are going to have to earn by working for me. I can spend a portion of my resources to find the whereabouts of their possible location, but I can tell you this: one does not simply obtain something as powerful as a dragon and then suddenly tame it's power. All I could give you is a location, and a way to get there. To obtain a dragon's obedience one must be judged and be willing to respect such a creature for its rarity and strength, as well as it must be able to respect you. So I am afraid I cannot simply 'give' you a dragon. As for money, you can basically name one and we will likely agree. Just note, I have others that may be able to do the same thing for me, so if your prices are...unreasonable, I might give it to someone else. The work will be mainly you on your own unless i deem it necessary for someone to accompany you, which will be likely in the first two or so." Daichi could see that the man had been pondering his offer, and knew he could likely tip the scale with what he said. All that was left was to wait for a response.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyWed Nov 02, 2011 11:56 am

Staring into the man before him, he watched his every move like anything could give away this guys deepest secrets, or at any moment he could burst into a thousand pieces and RInzo would wake up from some sort of dream. The man began to speak after a moment, as if he briefly considered Rinzo’s words and moved on. This ‘Daichi’ Character spoke of vast connections. More numerous then RInzo could imagine...I found that hard to believe. I had a pretty crazy imagination at times and not being able to imagine something...that almost seemed like a challenge. I liked challenges, thinking with a smirk forming on my face as the man’s words filled the space between us. No one would be able to eavesdrop on us form up here. Not that it mattered much but someone listening would surly think these two idiots were cray taking about on a roof in the middle of the city. Besides, most people would just be waking up, or still asleep for a bit linger. Regardless RInzo and this Daichi fellow had the roof tops to themselves for the time being with no fear of interruption. The massively tall man was still being mysterious on who he was apart of, the people that had the resources to find him a dragon and find him for that matter after he had snuck out of the fight. not incredibly impressive, finding him, but still fairly considering he had thought he had done a fine job of making his get away unnoticed. Sure, secrets were fun, but more fun when more people knew...then they turned form secrets into rumors and who didn’t like those?

Rinzo considered these “precautions” as the man called them, then brushed them off. Nothing he had to worry about so he wouldn’t. Then, quick movement caused Rinzo to stiffen up, sliding quickly as if he was born to into a stance, ready to ignite this entire roof in fire in a moment...as the man, Daichi, flicked his hands and raised a stone seat form the stone roof. A simple gesture back, rested Rinzo to know that no one was behind the man, as he sat down. He was getting comfortable... if only he knew how close he’d just come from being a fried giant. Anyway, relaxing Rinzo now knew that this guy was an earth bender. Well that cleared some things up. If he was an earth bender, and he new Rinzo was a fire bender, then it was interesting that he was simply talking to him. Most earth benders hated anyone else right now with the war going on. So at least this guy was being real with him. There was some organization, and the offer was real. At least until RInzo woke up from this possible dream.

Rinzo stood straight, if this guy was gonna relax, then sure, so was he. After all, this guy wanted him, so he’d talk, and Rinzo was interested. What else did he have to do then sneak out of the city? Not crap, was all he could think of. So in the least, he’d stay and chat with this, monster of a man, and earth bender Daichi. Hunching forward to lean on the stone rail of the roof, Rinzo gazed out tot he city, roof tops with shadows and light cast upon them like paintings. Daichi began to speak again, Rinzo listening tot he words, soaking them in like a sponge in water. The mention of the word, ‘Dragons’, Rinzo’s ears perked and he slightly tilted his head. he wanted to learn as much about the great beasts as possible. Sure it was a stretch form the beginning but that didn’t mean he wasn’t serious. He wanted one. He assured Rinzo that they were very real and out there. Perfect. That was all he needed to solidify his demand as the man Carried on. At the end Rinzo took a few moments to gather his thoughts and consider a few things. But he already knew mostly what he wanted to say.

“Well as far as earning it, you wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of finding me if you didn’t think or Know I was capable of doing what you want. And I assure you, my skills are worth any price. But for now. You name a nice high one and we can negotiate it higher if need be depending on the jobs you send me on. I would like a nice fat stack of money in case I ever need it.”

He pulled out the fat sack of gold he’d won from the night before and dropped it on the roof, by his feet. It plopped to the ground, an audible sound of a large amount of coin could be heard moving around, and a few gold coins even popped out.
“As you saw last night, and form the results, I can get cash, but if you want me to work for you in say....A timely manner, you might want to satisfy my needs for the dollar unless you want me to get sidetracked. Make sense there Gigantor?”

Sure, another name calling remark, but Rinzo wasn’t trying to aggravate the big guy. It was just a part of him. He was a smart ass and he couldn’t let that go in the presence of company could he? His street cred would diminish over night if people thought he could be....”Respectful” He turned, now sitting on the stone ledge, his arms crossed in front of his chest. Rinzo eyed the man once more. Hard, calculating eyes, but a goofy grin on his face, typical.
“I’ll cut the crap. You know I’m worth it, and I know. I’m in. Not sure what rodeo Im joining u with but your going to tell me. Now, my only condition remains, and I want a defiant answer. i can still walk away, remember that.”

Pausing for a second he let his acceptance sink in and watch the man’s reactions...then Rinzo put his icing on the cake.
“You find a dragon. Your people don’t have to go near it, just enough to verify it...Then you tell me. Nothing else. You forget it to. No one else but me will know about it. I’ll do with it as I please, but thanks for your concern. As for any kind of partner...I don’t play well with others very often. Well..actually I do. I Love to play with others, but ya see, some people think I’m some kinda smart ass, and they can’t stand me. But that’ll be your call right...Boss?”

Sure, even Rinzo wasn’t sure what he’d do with a dragon yet. But once he found out where it was...he’d figure something out. Talk about stepping up in the wold haha. He laughed to himself, a damn dragon. If only his father and mother could see him...Anyway, he watched the man, waiting for his response to Rinzo’s rather bold claims and well in all honesty they weren’t so bold as they were true. His history and success in the ring and in numerous other fights spoke volumes more then Rinzo’s fast mouth ever could. And that was saying something.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyFri Nov 04, 2011 9:39 pm

Daichi sat there and listened to him speak more. The man though highly of himself, that's for sure, he at least had the ability to back most of it up. He was right, in a way, about needing him. It would take awhile in order to search and find another liable candidate as skilled at fire-bending as he was. But it could be done, this man just happened to be the easiest to obtain. "Oh trust me, you will be paid handsomely for your work you do, and you will be told of everything in due time. As for a price, lets start the negotiations at say, one hundred gold pieces up front for the first mission, with an extra four hundred gold pieces more after a success? I'd say thats more than enough up front."

He spoke of his conditions for the dragon, which Daichi realized was something this man wanted greatly. It seemed he was thinking to himself about something when he took a pause then, but Daichi couldn't read minds, so he let it be. "My men will leave the dragon alone. It takes a very bold person to even think of approaching, yet alone attempting to find one. But lucky for you, I just happen to know where to look, given the fact that we will be searching in places we would rather not be found, keeping everything quiet while searching will cause it to take some time. If you can be patient about that, then I'm sure we can come to a happy medium." Daichi knew that offer of money up front would be more than enough for this one, but he knew he would be asking for more gold pieces up front, something Daichi knew he could keep reasonable.

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptySat Nov 05, 2011 10:27 am

The man seemed content in reassuring Rinzo about his payment, which he didn’t mind at all. Although not knowing what was going on and what exactly he was working for was a bit un-nerving, Rinzo could live without it for now. As long as he had some cash and in the nearish future...a Dragon...yeah he could live with it. Then he went back into mentioning these ‘negotiations’. Crap I say. He knows as well as I do that I am the best around and only one hundred gold starting, well that wasn’t even half of the three hundred in the bag I had won from the night before. Sure, money wasn’t the main thing on my mind in this deal, nor was it the most important, but it sure as hell told me what he thought of me. only a hundred....well if I we less of a person I’d have been a bit shocked and heart broken. But I’m a man after all, and I could tell he was just playing hard to get. Smiling a bit, I Corrected him,
“My good Giant, I don’t get out of bed for one hundred gold pieces. Make it 250 up front and 550 upon completion of the mission. Yeah, that sounds like you want a job done.”

Rinzo had a grin on, mostly because he knew that the man couldn’t be serious with his first offer, and besides a man so confidant that he could find a Dragon, should be able to afford it. Plus there was the problem with Rinzo allowing himself to be rented out for so cheap, his services would be seen just as cheap. There was some truth into price paying for quality. And when it came to fire bending, Rinzo was the highest quality you could get. Then what really mattered to Rinzo, the Dragon wasn’t to up his street credit or keep him at his current standing as a badass. No, that he wanted to keep hidden and deal with himself. Partly because he didn’t know what he wanted to do with it yet, but the other part was that well it was a freaking dragon. If people knew where it was or that it existed it’d probably be hunted for a number of reasons. So yeah, keeping it out of anyones ear had to be a must. Hopefully this guy was no scrub and could do that.
“I can be patient, but I want a status report about the process after each mission I complete. If I don’t think your putting enough resources into looking for it...well we’re gonna have to ...how would you put it? Oh yea, ‘Re-Negotiate”. Sound good.?”

Rinzo seemed to ask the last part, but it wasn’t a question, more like a statement. He didn’t care if the giant man, this ‘Daichi’, agreed to that or not. It was the un-moveable price of his service. After all, some might see asking someone to locate and more or less deliver that information a huge thing, on top of keeping it quite. But then again they weren’t being asked to go into the dark on random crazy missions that could be anything form saving a kitten in a tree or stealing intelligence from the Fire Nation. Yeah, big leap there but there was a war going on. For all Rinzo knew this guy was a part of the Earth Nation intelligence trying to recruit people to do stuff like that and not lead back to the Earth Kingdom so as to not make the Fire Nation as suspicious. Hey, it could happen. Regardless this was the “happy Medium” of which Daichi had mentioned. It would keep Rinzo from constantly pestering him about updates and how the search was going, while also keeping him up to date on how it was going. Plus, the extra coin in his pocket would keep Rinzo satisfied during his missions until he got his next payment and info on his Dragon.

Rattling the conversation and Rinzo’s mind, a few blocks away there was an earth shaking crash and rumble. Enough to shake the entire building Rinzo and Daichi were having their meeting on. Whipping around to look in the direction of the crashing sounds, rolling like thunder through the city, behind Rinzo, a few blocks away, a brilliant blueish white light was shooting to the sky from the streets. Rinzo stared in surprise and awe at it.

“What the Hell??”

He said it to himself, almost as if he meant to think it instead of say it. He was staring at awe over the roof tops, amazing it was just a few blocks away, Then the rattling and thunderous booms came again and every building around shook from what Rinzo could only assume was tremendous impact. What the hell could cause something like this? He’d fought earth benders before, some pretty damn good ones. This? This was no regular earth bender. It was like an army of Badgermoles were unleashing the fury on the city slums. Then the single word that stunned Rinzo, and almost at the same time cause him to leap form the roof top wide eyed. A scream from the direction of the booms and ripping stone....
“AVATAAAARRR!!!”

Rinzo, without thinking and assuming his new associate would be just as interested as he was, stepped up on the rail with one foot and gave a huge push as he jumped to the next roof top and took off at a run in the direction of the sounds. They still shook the roof tops and in fact became stronger as he advanced but it didn’t deter him any. HIs curiosity and need to see the Avatar overtook. him. He’d been wondering why he hadn’t heard anything about the Avatar being involved in this war, and now, maybe he’d come to BaSing Se to confront the Earth King and there was a massive fight going on. Not that RInzo wanted to necessarily get involved, but this could be a fight people would talk about for ages. He’d always had the thought that if something huge went down, it was way more exciting to see, and he’d rather be the person bragging and telling about it, rather then hearing about it. Huterling Rails and leaping from roof top to roof top, Rinzo cleared the distance quickly, being young and in near perfect shape this little sprint across the roof tips was easy for him. He finally jumped form a taller roof to a lower one, dust rising in a cloud around his impact, as he rolled to his feet and looked over the edge. A young boy was running down the road, his course would take him right past where Rinzo now stood. He looked frightened and frantic, and very confused. But the real excitement came from behind him, buildings had been torn apart and the stone used to created them had been molded and morphed and sent hurtling many yards in the opposite direction...
“What the hell happened here??”

Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are   Prize Fight...Limits Are What I Say They Are EmptyThu Nov 17, 2011 10:16 pm

Rinzo spoke again, upping the price. Daichi knew he would ask for something a bit on the greedy side, it was his personality. Daichi was more than willing to pay that amount though. "I think we can come into agreement upon that payment. We have a deal." It was just after Daichi finished speaking that the building shook and a bright light burst off a ways away, along with a voice yelling out 'Avatar'. Perfect, Daichi was actually searching for the Avatar and was going to send Rinzo on his first assignment to 'rough up' the Avatar a bit. Rinzo flipped around and was just about to take off when Diachi decided to stop him.

"Ah good, the Avatar has made his way to Ba Sing Se. Now I don't have to waste my men's time searching for him and more on your dragon. That's your first assignment. Go there and fight him, but don't kill him, and I'm making the no killing part very clear by saying you don't get paid if he dies. Eventually let him escape, I will have one of my men follow you off at a distance to follow the Avatar once he flees. I'm leaving the up-front payment here and I will be on my way. You are to meet me at the location which has been mapped on a paper within the sack of gold once you are finished to receive your second payment. This will be a deciding factor whether or not I want you on more assignments, so you are not to tell them anything if you land in such a situation."

Daichi pulled out the gold after placing in the extra amount Rinzo asked for and then left. His men heard him speak and Daichi signaled one of them to be the one to follow. Now Daichi would leave for the estate and wait for the man's return, along with a report from the man who would follow him and the Avatar.
